Being a developer also problem solves with repetitive tasks in coding and project operating.
Every day I log on to WordPress’ admin panel with several different sites that we’re building, managing and updating. There was no shortcut, you just had to type in your web browser’s address bar to take you to site’s admin login page.
If you manage one or two websites, you can easily add a bookmark or display on your favourite bar for one click quick to admin page but what about several sites for a developer who is working on it?
For live websites this little snippet of JS will take you to WordPress’s admin from the site’s root directory:
For development such as on localhost or in a different folder directory you need go to home page then click this bookmark on your favourite bar which will add ‘admin’ at the end of URL of home page:
- Add the following snippet, one of either above on your web browser and hit return.
- You will get error page, ignore this just add the page to your bookmark (put it under favourite bar)
- Add the bookmark name either WP Live or WP Dev and save.
- If you want to customise the admin’s address edit the URL on your bookmark
I hope you find this very useful and time saving!
